Reem Bilbeisi

Reem Bilbeisi is a founder and principal of Averroes High School. She received her Masters in education from the Principal Leadership Institute from UC Berkeley, which allows her to be a pioneer in the following areas of service: superintendent, associate superintendent, deputy superintendent, principal, assistant principal, dean, supervisor, consultant, and school coordinator. Prior to that, she received her a B.A. in Education with teaching credentials in secondary business/technology education from Eastern Michigan University. Reem has previously taught at both the high school and middle school level and has experience teaching in public, private, and charter schools. She has shown a passion for the youth by leading youth mentor groups and events and counseling many students. Currently Reem also serves on WASC visiting committees around the Bay Area. Reem has always been committed to seeing young people with a stronger sense of their faith and community as they navigate adulthood.

Mohsin Imam

Mohsin Imam is a Strategy & Business Development Manager with Google where he focuses on big data and machine learning for Google's Cloud Platform. During his 11+ years at Google, Mohsin has held several roles in sales leadership, strategic program management, and operations for their Education, Mid Market, and Enterprise segments. While working at Google, Mohsin completed his MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and a Master of Engineering Management and Leadership from Santa Clara University. Before that, Mohsin served as a Software Engineer and Strategic Technical Consultant with Silicon Valley companies. Mohsin received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives with his wife and three children in Fremont, California.

Saif Vohra

Saif Vohra is the Treasurer of the AHS Board of Directors. Saif is Director of Finance at Cisco, where he leads the Enterprise Routing Finance Team. He has held a variety of finance leadership positions in his 15+ years there. Before Cisco, Saif worked at several Bay Area tech companies. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from London Metropolitan University and a Master of Finance from the University of Leicester, U.K. After graduating, Saif moved from London to the East Bay and currently resides in Pleasanton with his wife and three boys; their eldest is a sophomore at AHS. He joined the AHS Board because he is passionate about seeing Averroes succeed and grow, as it is an invaluable opportunity for Muslim youth.

Omar Raza

Omar Raza is an alumni of AHS and now is a board member with the mission to help grow and push AHS to establish success for their students. Omar is currently working at Salesforce as a Software Engineer on the Autonomous Infrastructure Management team since graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Computer Science. At Purdue, he earned a certification in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and received awards for Small Business Scalability and Marketing. Omar wants to utilize his experience as a former student, and his expertise in scalability engineering and business development to help AHS grow. Omar focuses on ensuring that Averroes has continuing success to send its students to the best universities in the world.

Dr Karim Bayanzay

Dr. Karim Bayanzay is a US board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, Department of Medicine. He is an award-winning researcher, but his primary passion is health informatics, where he looks at various ways to incorporate technology into medicine and analyze data to improve healthcare delivery. He is a co-founder of NeuroSpinal Innovations, a company dedicated to treating chronic pain using therapeutic waves. For over eight years, he mentored high school students to help them achieve their highest potential. He co-founded Kalemah Learning Institute, a home school co-operative focused on blending a robust Islamic education with the secular sciences. He is also the founder of "the study spot" YouTube channel, teaching advanced medical concepts to medical students.

Seema Badar

Seema Badar is a Senior Development Manager at the American Cancer Society. She also works as a Development Specialist at CAIR-SFBA. 

Seema graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Sociology. She has also recently earned a certification as a Fundraising Manager from The Fundraising School at Indiana University.  In past years, she has been working in Development and Fundraising for many different nonprofit organizations.  She is passionate about education, social justice, and advocacy for Muslim rights.

Seema is passionate about serving the community and was awarded a Community Hero Award by the California State Assembly last year. Outside of work, Seema enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, cooking, and traveling.

Homira Shafaq

Homira Shafaq is a seasoned Civil Engineer with over 15 years of experience working at various local municipal governments. Her experience spans Design, Construction, Flood Control, and Development Engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

A Bay Area native, Homira has deep ties to the region, having grown up, attended school, and now working locally. She is the proud mother of two students at Averroes High School. Outside of her professional commitments, Homira enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. 

With a strong passion for education, Homira is committed to advancing the growth and success of Averroes High School. She is dedicated to furthering the school’s mission, helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders, and ensuring Averroes continues to thrive as a leading institution of opportunity and excellence.

Muhammad J. Haq

Muhammad J. Haq is a dynamic entrepreneur, investor, and technology leader with over 20 years of experience founding and scaling innovative companies. Based in Pleasanton, California, he is a proud father of two—15-year-old Ayra and 10-year-old Arzaan—and comes from a deeply religious family in Pakistan.

With a strong academic foundation, Haq holds four degrees: a bachelor’s in accounting, a bachelor’s in computer information systems, an MBA, and a master’s in management information systems. His expertise spans AI, cloud computing, and advanced technology services. As the founder and CEO of a multinational AI and cloud implementation company with offices across the USA, UK, India, Australia, and Pakistan, he is at the forefront of digital transformation.

Beyond business, Haq is deeply committed to community development. He founded OnTrack, a skills enablement initiative that has helped over 700 individuals—including students, women, and veterans—regain their footing in the job market.

An athlete at heart, he played soccer for various clubs in Pakistan and holds the title of Kentucky State Squash Champion (2002). In his free time, he enjoys music and reading about nutrition and biochemistry, continuously seeking knowledge and growth.
